Are Cartoon Characters the New Dallas Theme??

Dear All,

I remember before I was a member that a few users used to use Dallas pictures as their own, it seems that the cartoon theme has taken over.

Has anybody got any thoughts or possible new themes that we could adopt?

Hope all is well in the world of book-keeping and accounts.

Peace out, Ross

Hi Ross

If I remember rightly before the dallas theme there was an Only Fools & Horses theme.

I have never been a trend setter, but I have had my Homer avatar for over 2 years (Dec 07, doesn't time fly), so although I won't take credit for the new crase (I will!).

Count Duckula - I remember that show!! Very cool Ross.

Not as good Bannana Man of course, but a very close second.

Very nice guys!

I've gone slightly more upmarket with mine. Stuart Little was a computer annimation, not strictly a cartoon characterbiggrin

I think the Dallas theme only survived so long because Amanda (?) had Lucy Ewing as an avatar.
Incidentally, is it wrong to find Betty Boop sexy?

Nope! I'm with you on that one. Here's hoping Cheetara joins the forum!

Hope it's not to do with that silly facebook thing which, incidently finished yesterday and was, allegedly, something to do with paedophiles!!

I'm sticking with Miss Ellie 'cos I like it.

Thought I'd join the book-keepers cartoon club.

As an 80's chick I thought Cheetara would be an appropriate avatar. Thanks for the idea John!

Morning People.

Suits you Rob!

I like the Stuart Little one... Bit dangerous with all of the cat lovers around here!

I've got the perfect replacement for Amanda :

Mines just a temporary one until I can think of something better.

Have a nice day now y'all.

Hey Shaun,

I see from your avatar that you are still in the Corporate world then!

Going to check your suggestion for Amanda, but her Betty Boop seems popular.

catch you later,

Rob

Hi Rob,

Betty Boop just isn't in the running against Jessica.

What was her line... "I'm not really bad I'm just drawn this way". Classic.

Yep, still in corporate land at the moment but been off for a few days due mainly to the snow situation in Edinburgh. Just ran out of the stuff that I was being paid for so thought that I would venture on here between emails back to the office.

Last Wednesday night I spend 2 hours digging the car out of the car park then a further 11.5 hours driving back home! Normally it's less than a minute to exit the car park and the journey is between 4 and 5 hours.

No point trying to fly up as the airports closed more than its open and the train is just too darn expensive to even think about.

Hows life been treating you matey. Whats the software license situation this year. Are you sticking with Iris regardless? Did you ever get a replacement for your staff member that was only able to fit work in between tennis matches?

Talk in a bit,

Shaun.

Hi Shaun,

I hate commuting, my drive is ten minutes, though at the moment it doubles as I have to scrape the windscreen but I wouldn't cope with driving to Edinburgh.

I have an AAT apprentice now, she is working out well, does all the payroll a bit on Sage and answers the phone and even manages to tidy the place too!

Iris is up for renewal in February, I'm really tempted to go elsewhere, especially if they could prove (and actually do it for me) that all my Iris data can be imported into the new software. I'm thinking I'll probably stick with it for another year until the IXBRL thingy is running without glitches, but it will be around £5k to £6k I guess.

How has your lad been getting on at school if you have been stuck up north?

Rob

Hi Rob,

it was the thought of being stuck away from my boy that prompted the epic journey through the snow and ice.

He's getting on fine at school now thanks. Girls several years older than him seem to have adopted him which is pretty worrying!!!

Like the line about proving that they can import the Iris data. It's a problem that I have all of the time. Normally managers buying incompatible software from vendors promising the earth and then muggings here having to develop bespoke interfaces to reformat the schema's and fill in the gaps... Shouldn't complain though as their incompetence keeps a not too shoddy roof over my head.

Glad the AAT lass is working out well. Better not tell her about this site or she'll be seeing you in a whole different light!

talk in a bit,

Shaun.

Your new avatar is too wide and it's making the text go way way way too far right on the screen.  Like Dilbert though.

Hi Sheila,

it was fine on my screen but I've swapped it for something more in keeping with the developing theme!

Is it ok now?

I'm viewing through Mozilla Firefox v3.6.12.
