How do i record an advance salary for an employee what is the double entry
I know i Credit the bank but where does the other side go to?

I have a nominal 2222 in Sage and thats where I post the other side to, then reverse it when posting the salaries at the correct date.

Hi,

I agree, set up a separate nominal code for advance wages. I would post it to a code which falls into the debtors category though and the 2000s are creditor codes. Set up one say 1105.

Yes I agree with Carole. Like a prepayment as far as the business is concerned.
