PAYE Year End Status

Couple of reasons for posting

Firstly to get my count up, Lorraines catching up fast!!

Secondly, I have recently filed PAYE year end P14/ P35 for two different clients.
The first I did using Sage 50 Payroll, the second I did online directly filling in the appropriate boxes.

Having checked the status of these clients I am bit concerned that the first clients status shows nothing in the status box (I did receive a Gateway email saying that it had been received, within seconds of submitting it)

The second client shows a status of updated but it has been like that for several days now.

Does anyone know if this is normal?

Do you know I've never checked the status of clients I've done direct from Sage Payroll, just printed off the successful submission box and the Gateway email, and I've never had any problems.

For the direct on line one are you sure you submitted it or did you just save it? It's 12 months since I did an direct one so, cause of my advanced years, I can't remember.

Why thank you again Miss Ellie

For the direct entries, I followed the process to the end. I will check again later, another day wont hurt.

Now I know why I used to fall out with Jock

You should be able to log in on hmrc and see which forms have been submitted and their submission reference and print it all off.

Hi Sue

Panic over now

Thats was the problem.

The one I submitted using Sage 50 Payroll showed no status at all but I did get a confirmation email from Gateway to say that it has been successfully received.

The second I completed manually but showed the status of updated.

Just checked today and the Sage one shows filed and the second one still showed updated, so I selected P35 and went through it again (all the boxes were still completed with the correct amounts). It seems the system is a bit quirky as it went  through the submitting process exactly as before, with a delay then green, animated arrows appear while it transmits, then a message saying it was successful (as it did before). This time the status shows submitted.

It would appear that there is a delay between software submission and  client details being updated.

As for manual submission, it seems that a successful submission doesn't always mean that first time round.

HMRC informed Sage last Friday that there was a problem with some submissions. You could have been one of the unlucky ones and by submitting again would have sufficed.

I must admit I've also never checked the status page! Oops. Maybe I'll take a look sometime....

That's good to know Philip. Thanks

After about five days the status changed for the Sage submitted one on its own

The one that gives me more concern now is the one where i manually submitted, as it just said updated. If I hadn't gone back in and resubmitted it I don't know where I would stand, if it caused the client a problem. I had submitted it properly the first time round
