Hi Everyone!

First of all I've been lurking on here for a while and find the advice given and encouragement shown to be top class.

I was made redundant a few months ago. I had always worked with figures (retail) and worked closely with a bookkeeper for a couple of years around 2006. As well as job hunting, I decided to retrain as a bookkeeper. Since then I have passed ICB Levels 1 & 2 (Manual). First exam I had taken in over 20 years! I'm currently waiting for my application pack to arrive from the ICB for a Practice Certificate at which point I'll be ready to go self employed.

I have one client lined up for 1 day a week and have been particularly interested in the threads on how to get more clients, MLR and startup advice.

If I pinch anyone's ideas off here, please take it as a compliment!

That's all for now!

Roy.

Hi Roy,

Welcome to the forum - yes I agree - very friendly people and great tips and advice.

Well done on getting your first client lined up - onward and upward.

Congratulations on passing your exams, I am hopefully applying for my practising certificate soon as well just as soon as I pass my computerised level 2.

See you on the boards

Terri

Hi Zoe

Word of mouth. Simply in the right place at the right time.

I'm in the process of putting together a little promotional/advertising package which I aim to send to local accountants and employment agencies.
