Exam results!

I just checked on the ICB website to check if the results were back yet for the Manual Level 2 taken on 10th June.  They're not supposed to be released until Friday but someone on here told me that sometimes they are a few days early and mine was there!

I got 84% which is a merit and I know that its not a fantastic mark, but I was hoping to just scrape through with 60s marks as exams and travelling aren't my strong point so I am really happy with my results.

I wanted to go out this week for a double celebration (its my fifth wedding anniversary on Friday too) but my mum is the only person I will leave thee boys with and she is quaranteened with swine flu for the next five days, typical :)

I hope you other guys passed too

Terri

A pass is the main thing, but 84% is a really good mark. Well done!

Hi all,

Well done Terri! I have just checked mine hardly daring to look cos I was convinced I had failed, but I have got 89% distinction. Can hardly believe it, think a blind man must have checked mine, lol. Really thought I had messed up.

Hope everyone else has as much luck.

Thanks Terri,

Are you going to carry on with the ICB and take level 3? I think I am going to leave that for a while and try and teach myself payroll. How are you getting on with the computerised bookkeeping?

Hi everyone. Congratulations to all those that did well. I got a merit pass, 78 %. A little disappointed really as I thought i'd done better. Does anyone know if it's possible to find out where I went wrong with the exams? You learn from your mistakes and I would really like to know where I lost marks.

At the moment I am still studying the computerised bookkeeping but I am finding using SAGE really easy so dont think that it will take me too long.  I got my first assignment back yesterday and got an A so I have have another assignment to do and then I can do the level 1 exam, then another assignment and then the level 2 exam.

I am still debating at the moment whether to do level 3 or payroll, to be honest with the money situation at the moment, I will probably do whichever is cheapest.

I am so pleased for you, I knew that you would have done better than you thought!

Hello,

Well done to you all with the excellent exam results.  I passed my payroll exam, and I think a blind man marked my paper too; I got a distinction (99%) biggrin.  I am going to look at doing the computerised level 2 soon.

Hi Angela
Please don't think I am being rude but I bet your jaw does still ache because 99% is absolutely fantastic, I would be thankful for a good pass. I wonder what you got wrong for your 1%.
But at least I know an expert now who I can turn to for any tips :)

Good luck with your future exams too.

Regards
Mark

Hi
I am new to the forum and like many of you I got my level 2 results today.  I really wanted to get some advice on the best way forward from here - level 3 manual , or level 2 computerised.  A computerised course seems pretty pricey and I was wondering if anyone had taken it without going through a provider, or whether this was the best approach.

Any advice would be welcome

Andy

Hi. Well done everyone who passed. I am new and have passed level 2 manual bookkeeping exam and I took the Level 3 IAB Manual exam in June, I should get my result in the post tomorrow. Can you still advertise to do bookkeeping self employed before you have passed level 3? I have lots of Sage Line 50 experience over the last few years.

Hi Newbookkeeper

You don't have to have any exams to set up as a self employed bookkeeper.

I had 12 years experience when I set up as self employed bookkeeper and apart from GCSE's and RSA Bookkeeping no qualifications, this was in August 2006. I did not start studying until September 2007.

Would say that experience is important, most of the new clients I got when I started were only interested in experience. Thought I would have more clients interested in my qualifications after I had got up to Level 2 ICB manual and level 2 and 3 computerised and level 3 payroll, but not really apart from a few where I advertised, because most of my clients were from recommendations so they were not that interested in qualifications.

Hi Alison

Thank you for the reply. I am a nervous wreck about getting my result today and I am at work so I can not open it until I get home tonight! I am looking forward to advertising for my own clients. At present I am working part time for an accountant doing their VAT returns.

This is a nice thread so I thought that I would add my latest results for my Computerised Level 2, I got the results back on 17 August but never posted - I got 94%. In both my level 2 computerised and manual bookkeeping, I got 1% less than a distinction, gutted :D

Well done to everyone who passed!!!
