ICB or IAB Level 3 Diploma in Book-keeping

Hi Everyone,

I have managed to pass the ICB Levels I and II in manual book-keeping and I am now interested in studying for the Level III.  However I realise that the IAB also have a Level III Diploma in Book-keeping.  Therefore my question is having passed only the ICB levels I and II would I be eligble to go for the IAB Level III or would it make better sense to go for the ICB level III.  I am asking this since I am not sure of the standards of the different qualifications and was wondering whether the IAB would be the better of the two to have?

Thanks

Tracy

Hi Tracy,

ICB or IAB - both are good qualifications, it all comes down to personal choice. If you intend to set up a bookkeeping business, then ICB will allow you to do that now as you have passed level 2, but you would only be able to do manual accounts. The IAB route takes a little longer. It would be best to contact them and ask if your current qualifications are transferrable, then decide which one to settle for.

Thanks Julie.

I'll first contact the IAB and ask whether the ICB qualifications are transferable and then decide as you suggested.

Thank you for your help

Tracy
