I want to become a competent bookkeeper - advice please

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find a way of getting trained up as a bookkeeper and was looking for someone who could 'teach me'.  Ideally I would like someone to be able to let me 'shadow' them and then teach me the basics so that I can do it myself.  I don't have any experience of SAGE or any other package but pick things up easily and am VERY keen to learn.

I have an Accounting degree but this was a good few years ago and haven't had any experience since then so am a bit rusty.

If you are able to help me or know someone who might I would be very grateful for the opportunity and of course I am prepared to pay for your time.

Thanks!

Shelley

Hi Shelly

A friend of mine was in a similar situation and she wrote to all the local book-keepers and accountants in her local area. She got a response from a book-keeper and has since been offered full time work. You might want to try this?

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for replying to me. I never really thought about writing out to the local companies as it's more of a part time thing I was looking for but I guess it's worth a try. I will certainly be taking your advice and hope for the best.

Thanks again!

Shelley
