Payrol client leaving

Morning all

I have a Ltd Company client that is moving to a new accountant, there is only one Director and I have done the payroll on Moneysoft up until the end of November as agreed, I have sent over all the handover documents that was asked for to the new accountant, is there anything further I need to do in Moneysoft? or do I need to remove the client from Moneysoft?

Any help would be much appreciated as always

Cheers

Hi Doug

Nothing else you need to do on Moneysoft. I would archive the data file as it needs to be kept for 3 years + current. (assuming no pension) I think if you take it out of the folder where your data files are stored that will remove the name on your Moneysoft dashboard.

Hi John, thanks for that

How are things? Still busy? I have still got so many SA to do I think I am going to have a mad January (or should I say madder!)

Hi Doug. Things are fine, just getting ready for the stragglers.

17 still to come in, 12 waiting to be checked and finalised, and 2 still to do the paperwork. Trying to avoid the last day mad rush (from my side) but I say that every year.

Are you getting excited about MTD 4 IT in just over 2 years time?

Hi John

Still got over 20 to go!

MTD IT, not really bothered or thought about it just yet, I can see it getting delayed again, HMRC can't cope now not sure how they would rolling this out as well, I can see it being a lot more work for us as accountants but I can also see more clients coming through our doors!

My only concern at the moment is that we will have to submit income and expenses for all clients all at the the same time ie before end of July, October, January and April. I think that will be a logistical nightmare.

Aweb seems to have gone into virtual meltdown, with Accountants planning to retire, quadruple fees or simply turn away clients.

Whilst I'll certainly be having a weed out of clients that I struggle to get information from even before the 10 month deadline (I'm still waiting for 19-20 property income from one) I see it as an opportunity, certainly for those who do bookkeeping, and no real difference to the quarterly vat return.

I'm also working on a resource website for both the profession and tax payers, although it will initially concentrate on the profession side of things.
