AAT Membership

Hi,

I'm after some advice....

I finished AAT back in 2012 and  i did not renew my membership.

I have now decided i want to start up on my own as a self employed bookkeeper and unfortunately for me i have to go through the process of renewing my membership with AAT.  I have recently started the application, but to be honest i'm struggling.  I'm no good with these type of questions, that's why i do numbers blankstare.

I'm worried that i'm not answering the questions correctly.  Can anyone offer me any advice on how they got through it?

Thanks Clare

Hi Clare,

Welcome to the forum..... without sounding sarky.... if you are struggling with renewal of your aat membership application, you will have so much more testing processes to navigate once you start offering a bookkeeping service, it's not about numbers !

Good luck , genuinely I mean it.

Julie

Bookkeeping & accountancy is mainly about filling in forms and learning rules of things lol.  What kind of thing do they ask you?

The form you refer to is very straight forward. Only question without a tick box type answer is in relation to CPD. Just list what you have done to keep up.Wait until you get on to the licence forms.Step away, look at it again tomorrow. But be honest with yourself, if you cannot answer these basic questions, how will you assist clients? Bookkeeping is not akin to secondary school maths, as many seem to think.
