Just found out we can get a months refund on BT Sport, with the option to donate it to NHS Emergency Covid Appeal, so that's what we did.

I get it for free John - have done for about 3 years now!   But on earth they are charging when there is no sport on I dont know. Racketeering almost!    Good to donate it though, a fair few big hitting donations announced last day or  two, but lets also not forget the smaller charities that are losing out through events not being carried out, plus a shout out to all our other support services at this time.

Anyone signed up for the NHS volunteer scheme?   3/2 million people did in less than a week - amazing.

What other things are you each doing?

Im feeling frustrated as I cannot go out, but currently helping a business who is providing free MOTS and services for NHS staff, policemen and service personnel, another free counselling and Im calling older members of the public who live alone and who are isolated as part of a local initiative.    Also just found out that a local bakery owner was up at 1am every day baking, then spent all day delivering and has after a week of this (+) now suffering complete exhaustion. Partly it was to keep the business going, but she has been delivery to older folk who cannot get out.....so Im pondering on whether to offer my baking services.

I get it for free John - have done for about 3 years now!   How'd you manage that?  Ours is £16 a month on Sky Q and I always hassle them for a good deal. To be fair we also have an excellent deal for our phone/broadband, £27 a month with any time calls and super duper fast broadband.

But on earth they are charging when there is no sport on I dont know. Racketeering almost!  I had this discussion with a friend of mine.  Both Sky and BT Sports are still available and that is what you're paying for, the fact there is no live sport is out of their hands.  To be fair to Sky Sports you can log in and pause it, which means you won't pay that element until live sports are available again.

Good to donate it though, a fair few big hitting donations announced last day or  two, but lets also not forget the smaller charities that are losing out through events not being carried out, plus a shout out to all our other support services at this time.  Absolutely.

Anyone signed up for the NHS volunteer scheme?   3/4 million people did in less than a week - amazing.  Yes, that was a very positive outcome, and 3 times what they expected.

What other things are you each doing?   Nothing specific, but just helping out wherever I can.

Yes I do think you should bake, you do realise of course that it will have to be quality assured and rigorously tested first.  Shaun and I have both agreed that we will be the approved testers.  biggrinbiggrin

Im with BT for BT Sport, not even switched it on since this thing started - no time for TV watching, in fact really no time for this forum except its a break!   I must be a good negotiator, although my line is usually 'Im not ruddy paying that' said with a Yorkshire accent! wink

If I get chance I will post cakes. But only if I pass the sorting office on my daily exercise wanderings.

I thought this was maybe an April Fool at first......but surely not, surely Man Arena wouldn't pull an April Fool on the NHS during a pandemic.

Oh no........it really is a Rick Astley concert....
