Sage and MTD slightly different this time

Hi,

So, I'm now on a different client that I again signed up to MTD in Aug after their last qtr. I successfully connected in sage one, but then when I try to crate a vat return, it tries to connect to HMRC then says that there is no return due. It is due by tomorrow. I don't know what to do, I can't put in the old codes to try and submit as I'll have the same problem with the other client as in it won't submit because of MTD!!

Thank-you

Nicola

Crikey Nicola.

First of all, check what it says on your agent (old and new) about a vat return being due (or not). Failing that clients BTA account open (by them preferably) and get them to see if a VAt return is due, take a screen shot and send to you.

VAT return not due is common when HMRC have had post returned as gone away.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

Its worth setting up some bridging software to see what is going on. You can look up things on Bridging software whilst submitting via Sage.

I can look at this with you this afternoon (before 4pm) one the phone if you wish. Just email me at john@hemming.email

Hi John, thank-you for the kind offer-I didn't go back on here until after I'd got the last one submitted .
