I agree, I do prefer the old set up but I am gradually getting used to the new look

Part of what the government are trying to do is to improve accessibility so that people who have visual impairment can use the systems. That has effects on design. Because I also try to make my software usable by people with visual problems I end up talking to the accountants and book keepers in this category. There is a need for this even if there are not that many people affected.

There are now 10 MTD suppliers who try to comply with accessibility standards for vision (I just checked). There was initially me and then there were three. Personally I think it is a good idea to design software in an inclusive manner. That does not necessarily mean it does not work for people with 20/20 vision, but it does mean that you cannot just do whatever you feel like from a design point of view.

Are you submitting on behalf of a client?
