Hi

I'm new on this forum. I've read it for a while and decided to join. The discussions held here appear to be in really professional and friendly manner . Hope this forum member will not regret to welcomimg myself .

Originally from Latvia I have graduated in 2000 from Uni and has worked in finance ever since. I've moved to UK 7 years ago and at the moment my family home is in East Yorkshire.

I hold Diploma in Economics from Latvian University and 15 years of work experience in Latvia .

I am on my AAT Level 2 distance learning course now basically moving towards my synoptic assessment soon. Looking forward for my Level 3 and 4 .

For living I do books for several self-employed sole traders at home. But I am not employed full time at the moment which is my greatest concern.

Thanks

Kirill

Hi Kirill
Please add your name so it appears under the line on posts.

Have you been on here before? Were doing a sage course and worked on some businesses your Mum owned (or something like that)?

Who is your MLR with? Are the AAT aware you are trading as a bookkeeper whilst a student?

Joanne thanks for that

I am new to this forum, never been registered here before.
My Mum never had a business to work in, she's a retired tennis coach.

I liaise with the practice from London the one where I did some work experience as a trainee. I provide all the books to that practice and they do final accounts.
I have not let AAT know I am working whilst studying but they do know the name of the practice as I have mentioned it in my application.
Have I done it in wrong way?

Thanks

That's ok
Thank you
Not really I am contracting for them now.
These have MLR policy in place .
Looking to finish the contract by next year that is the reason I've started to search around for another work / practice place preferably local.
I'll discover that in the relevant section

Apologies for being annoying but I wonder if it is vital to make AAT aware I am working while studying.

Thanks

 Ah, right.

You are covered by their MLR as a contractor.

As you have included the fact on your application you will be ok, but if your circumstances change (given you are looking to eventually move from them) then you will need to pop a call out to the AAT and update them, to ensure you are not in breach of any of their regulations.

Hi Mimi  (you have signed off as Mimi rather than Monika, so I assume your prefer to be called that?).

Might be better to intro yourself on a new post, that way we can find your backbround when you ask a question so we can pitch the answers appropriately.

Can you maybe also add, who you are licensed by for your bookkeeping work? Plus details of your role now?

Welcome
