Are you going Doug?  I'm going both days now as there are a couple of seminars I'd like to visit, and one is on Wednesday and one on Thursday. There would have been 3, but 2 clash and they're both MTD (not just VAT but future plans as well), and I have a choice of Mark Purdue from Thomas Reuters or Theresa Middleton from HMRC.

 Hi John

Yes travelling down to London tomorrow afternoon and will be attending the first day, not had a chance to plan the day as yet but definitely will meet up if you want.

Anyone else going ? It would be good to meet other members.

Hi Doug

It would be good to meet up and say hello, certainly.  If you google leger bookkeeping ripon my number is on there and that diverts to my mobile.  Same goes for anyone else who's going to be there.

Which reminds me, I really must crack on and get my new website built. I had planned to do it February/March but got bogged down.  Once the subbies are out of the way I will get that finished.

I am not able to attend the London event, but have signed up for Manchester on 10 Sept. Will be first time going to any accounting events so a little apprehensive about what to expect.

Well, I've been and went, and very good it was too.  Did 3 seminars, one with Theresa Middleton on MTD, one with someone from ICAEW on setting the the new agency services account, and one on social media by Della Hudson, who is apparently a guru in this field.

Also had the pleasure of meeting Doug, a great guy and had a moozie round the stalls as well.  Quite a lot of it was above my level, but did spot that Taxfiler are introducing a CRM/Practice Manager which looked pretty good. Doubt it will be cheap but it's a good move from them if it compares price wise with Senta/Accountancy Manager.

It was well worth going and will do it again next year, all being well.

 Hi John,

Looks like the forum is down to 2 biggrin, but hopefully not and its just that everyone else is too busy to post anything

It was good to meet up and have a chat.

Same as you a lot was above my level for my size of business, watched a few seminars myself which were quite interesting (as well as getting a rest for my poor arthritic knees) but overall glad I went.

Haha, no chance.  Thanks for all the messages I got whilst being offline.  Having restricted access to t'interweb whilst away drove me nuts.  Now Im back boysitting again and I have 'no service' on my phone.  BT chat suggests I phone them on 0800....... WTF? Are they morons, how can someone phone with 'no service'?

Only good thing is that clients cannot find me - except by email this time!
