Cheap MTD compliant software customer charges - Move QuickBooks data to another programme

Hi Everyone

I'm still using QuickBooks Pro 2015 desktop for some clients for bookkeeping and VAT. I'm wondering if I move them to an online MTD compatible programme how is best to charge them? Should they register with the new programme company and then have to pay the monthly fee themselves or should I register them and I pay the fee up front and then invoice the client? hmm

Also it will be a shock for the clients to have the extra expense of an online package charged each month and so far I've been recommended QuickBooks online and Xero by the accountant. Are there any other packages out there that are good and cheaper?  Also are any of these packages able to transfer data from my old QuickBooks to a new one - do you know?

I'm dreading this MTD and unsure if i should register the client or does the accountant do that if they have a turnover of more than 85k?

Many thanks for any help. I'm sure some of my queries have been posted before.

Thanks

Zoe

Just use bridging software. See other posts. Client registers themselves if over but you need to tell them when if over rolling t/o, could be loo late by time accountant gets info

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position
