Changing Year End Date in Sage Instant Accounts

A small animal charity I keep accounts for on Sage Instant Accounts has changed its year end from June to October.  I need to finalise the books as at 31 October, after only four months in the accounting year and commence a new financial year from 1 November.

Can anyone tell me how to do this in Sage Instant Accounts without having to run a period end trial balance and forming a new "Company" by re-entering the opening balances?

I have tried clicking "Settings" "Financial Year" but it does not allow me to alter the default of "July 2018".

I would be grateful for anybody's help.

Thanks.

I do not use Sage myself, but after a quick look on the Sage help site it seems that this can not be done for Sage Instant unless you have Sage Cover and then they can by connecting to your computer and changing the financial year for you.

Have a read through this link it may be of some use

ask.sage.co.uk/scripts/ask.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=11307

Maybe someone else on here will know of another way to do this

Thanks Doug.

As the charity is small there are not many nominal accounts so it might be better to re-enter opening balances.

Regards.

Somebody who used Sagae 50 accounts or Client Manager could do it for you
