CGHibbert were established in 1767, and are a leading supplier of duty free wines, spirits, beer, tobacco and other duty free products to the travel retail industry.

This role is based at purpose-built premises in Dover, Kent, overlooking the world's busiest passenger port. CGHibbert provide a complete secure bonded warehousing and supply chain service including stock and credit control, HMRC documentation, transport and logistics.

  

Job Description

As the Financial Accountant, you will be the senior finance representative on site, and will oversee a small finance team. You will form a strong working relationship with the General Manager, and will be ensure that all accounts are reported to the highest degree of accuracy.

As well as ensuring the integrity of the accounts, you will also enjoy commercial exposure to project work, which may include working with the Sales manager and General Manager on projects and negotiations with brand agencies.

Key duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Manage a small finance team
  • Maintaining tight control over cash flow for the site
  • Providing accurate and timely Management Reporting
  • Produce budget and forecasts in line with group deadlines.
  • Submit group intercompany reports
  • Supporting senior operational and finance management on commercial projects
  • Responsibility for the accounting system and sales reporting program.
  • Assisting in pricing control
  • VAT calculations
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Insurance reviews

 

This is a broad ranging accounting role which would challenge and develop the right candidate in many ways.

  

The Successful Applicant

The successful incumbent will come from a background where cash flow management is critical, and you will also have experience of leading and motivating a small team.

You may be qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), or qualified by experience with the relevant exposure to these keys areas, but you will certainly have a high degree of accuracy in all of your accounting actions.

Experience of Sage and strong Excel skills, outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously and independently will also be considered when applications are being reviewed. Knowledge of Navision would also be considered an advantage.

This role would suit a candidate looking for a new challenge in a pressurised but enjoyable environment at a similar level to their current role, but perhaps may be looking to reduce a long commute, or looking to re-invigorate yourself with a new company.
