Which as per the above gave Accountingweb as the primary resource.
Each professional body (ICB, IAB, AAT, etc.) have their own websites which can be found from their main sites although, unlike this site some of them are closed off to input form non members.
For students there is quite a good membership over on the Opentuition website although posters do not tend to answer questions the way that they do here.
Also, on Linkedin you can play around with various groups to find which one's feel right for your requirements.
Personally I joined a few but have never really felt part of their communities, probably because I'm spoint by the freindly community that we have on here.
HTH,
Shaun.

Maybe I'm wrong, but within this websites of professional bodies (ICB, IAB, AAT, etc.) I didn't fing this kind of information, which I can find in accountingweb.co.uk. I mean the informations like typical news/ short articels, what news happend in the branch etc.
I'm trying to understand your hole branch in uk, how it looks like, wherefrom you getting daily info..
I'm remind, that I working in Poland as a researcher. My employer is the largest publisher of materials for accountants (books, websites, data bases), and everytime they want from me to looking for foregin markets, how it looks like (in general) etc.
Now they ask me, wherefrom (free resources) accountans from uk getting daily info (in websites field) ???
no problems at all with understanding, you write very well.
I get emails delivered to my mailbox everyday from Accountingweb plus the specialist emails at other irregular intervals.
Sign up for a free accountingweb account (UK or US versions).
Go to My Account
About half way down the page there is a selection of email settings.
The emails that you can opt to receieve are (nay or all of the following ) :
- Tax Zone
- IT Zone
- Business
- Practice Management
- Insider
- Pick of the week
- Excel
- shop@AccountingWEB
- Supplements
- Tax jobs
- Business jobs
- Practice jobs
For more general news also sign up with Financial Director here
http://www.financialdirector.co.uk/
That one has some great current analysis of topical issues.
The articles from the likes of the ICB and IAB tend to be quite specifically focused upon bookkeeping. For the ICB, go to their website and look at the news tab.
Also keep your eye on the latest news on the PQ site which keeps its eye on all of the accountancy bodies (AAT and above). Their cash for books scandal article is actually quite famous.
hope that helps,
Shaun.
