How to record equipment purchase when part will be sold and other part will be rented

Hi,

I work for an internet provider. We have recently bought network equipments which will be used at client locations to receive signal.

In some cases, these equipments will be sold to the client, while in others they will be rented to them. However, we don't know for the time being which portion will be sold and which portion will be rented out.

How should the purchase of these equipments be registered in books?

Thank you!

Hi Melanie,

In this instance it probably wasn't the posters fault.

there was a problem with the sites interaction with some browsers when the knee jerk changes to browsers were implemented for the Java security issues (those using Firefox had particular issues).

I thought that I had got rid of most of the repeats but one or two slipped through the net.

After you've had chance to read my reply on this thread I'm get rid of this one in a similar fashion.

Sorry about that,

kind regards,

Shaun.

p.s. good to have you on board.
