Mobile version of The Book-keepers Forum released

Morning all

Following a significant period of development, we're pleased to announce we have released a mobile version of The Book-keepers Forum.

The cross-platform mobile version of The Book-keepers Forum officially supports iPhone, Blackberry and Android mobile devices.

The mobile version is free to use, and your mobile should automatically load the new mobile version when viewing the forum on your mobile phone. When viewing the forum from a normal PC or Mac the main website will still be shown. There will be an option to revert back to the standard site on your mobile should you wish to do so. The website address for the forum remains the same for both the mobile and standard versions at www.book-keepers.org.uk.

The mobile version includes the recent posts option. This is accessible by clicking on menu and then 'recent posts'.

With an increasing number of members viewing the forum on the go, the mobile version will hopefully make it easier and more convenient for members to view the forum and make posts when using a mobile.

Officially the mobile forum is still in beta test phase, however the beta test will not affect your forum usage. As always with new updates there have been a few teething issues, which we have managed to iron out prior to launch. However we may need to revert back to the main (standard site) if we experience any major problems over the next week or so whilst any new problems are fixed.

We hope the mobile version of the forum will be of benefit to members, and as always we would welcome any comments.

Kind regards,

Steve

I found that by accident in the early hours of this morning. I clicked on someone's link on Twitter and to start with I thought that was how Twitter dealt with things now. Makes things a lot easier to read. Before every time I was pinching the page to make it larger I was accidentally clicking a link.

Still waiting on my new android phone order to be sorted.

Switched my old blackberry internet off this week. Its a bit like internet detox for me, can't cope.

Look forward to seeing forum in mobile format early next week. Glad there is an additional site to fuel my mobile internet addiction.

Good morning,

Thank you all for taking the time to comment on the new mobile version of the forum.

We've been really pleased with the feedback left on the forum and via email to us.

Alfred, the mobile version is Android compatible. If you're experiencing problems viewing the forum on an Android phone please let us know.

As mentioned yesterday, the mobile version is still in beta. Our goal is test functionality of the basic features (navigation, posting, logging in, etc) before we add more features. But so far so good!

Kind regards,

Steve
