You could try an online system like KashFlow which I believe is very good.

We have a service that delivers Windows software over the Internet to any computer, Mac or PC. We have a number of UK clients using PC only accounting software perfectly happily on their Macs! Quickbooks, Sage, etc...

http://www.cloudnine.org

Fill in the trial request and I'll get it setup for you.

Might be cheaper in the long run to get a PC?

It seems that unless your running an effective PC emulator on the MAC your options are very limited. And if you run a PC emulator, why not just run a PC?

At the end of the day your machine is supposed to be there to make your life easier and whilst I have lots of friends who swear by MACs they live in the real world and use PCs for work (They work in banking operations, insurance and accounting. I think that it's a different story for Media and Marketing people).

As fusion accounts say in their advert above, Cloud computing is an option for you. But think carefully before taking that route and read the threads on here and accounting web in relation to pay as you go offerings.

Probably the most important issue for accountants and bookkeepers to consider is that if you go down the cloud computing route remember that your data will reside on their servers rather than in your own machine.

If you persist with the MAC route, if you don't fancy installing a PC emulator I know that MYOB used to be MAC compatible. I think that the companies now been bought out but you might take a look at that route as an alternative to Quickbooks or Sage. (I think that the American version of Quickbooks is MAC compatible but not the UK version).

Hope that the above gives a balanced appraisal of the options,

cheers,

Shaun.
