This topics probably more useful to everyone than it at first sounds.
It's a bit like the calculator one as in who uses what but with a more serious base.
I use Modzilla Firefox as my webbrowser (version 3.5.5) as it's got a really useful feature of being able to have multiple web pages open on tabs at the same time.
Assuming that I'm not the only one who does this, what web sites does everyone keep open on their machine?

Might be one or two there that you might want to visit if you haven't already.

I use Windows Explorer, that has the tab options too. I usually have Bookkeepers forum open too. Accounting Webb seem to email twice aday with their newsletters, but I don't often check their forum. I've not heard of PQAccountant before, so might take a visit to that one.
Hi Mark, I do seem to have an opinion on just about everything don't I! No wonder I'm divorced!!! I went to firefox back in about 2004 when hackers were finding more holes in IE than there are in a sieve. IE7/8 plugged the holes but I never went back. Personally I really like it as it seems a lot more flexible than explorer but there are still some websites that have difficulty with the security pages (still have to load up IE to pay my council tax or accept rights issues through Barclays stockbrokers (the rest of the Barclays site is fine)). I generally don't keep that many tabs open at the same time (he writes with five tabs open). So currently I have my bank website open. I check my accounts three or four times a day even though I know there aren't going to be that many changes. Three tabs are relating to registering as an agent with HMRC (still open from last night as I've been too busy to restart the computer). Plus of course this one I am replying to.
I used to use Firefox all the time because of the add-ons. Like I could upload files to my website from within Firefox. But it started crashing a bit too often and I've gone back to IE8. I like being able to copy stuff in IE8 and paste it into Excel - doesn't work as well in Firefox. (Although there is an add-on to open an IE type tab in Firefox and I can copy into Excel that way).
The reason I don't bother with too many tabs is I use the Yahoo toolbar for my bookmarks so I can access them whatever computer I am using.
What annoyed me about Firefox was its refusal to go away when I shut it down. Even "End Process Tree" in the Windows Task Manager would not get rid of it. And if you try and open Firefox again it will tell you it can't because it is already open.
