VAT Return on Sage

I am about to start a job where they want me to submit VAT Return on Sage Line 50.  I post all receipts/invoices etc but have not had to run a VAT report before or produce a return.  What checks need to be made on the VAT report before the return can be completed.

Thanks all

Debbie

Run the Sage Vat Return and print a copy withought accepting the "Reconciliation" option.

Check that the tax payable "Outputs" are the same as NL 2200 on Sage and that the "Inputs" are the same as NL2001 on Sahe

If the client uses the cash accounting scheme for VAT a further check is needed. You will need to add any output VAT due on debtors to the total of taxable outputs on the return to get back to the amount in code 2200. Likewise for inputs, you will need to add any input VAT due on creditors to the total of taxable inputs on the return to get back to the amount in code 2201.
