Hello,

I was just wondering if anybody could offer me any advice. I'm sorry if this isn't in the correct section of the forum.

I am soon to be level 4 AAT qualified, along with having a few years of both practice and industry experience. Due to a change of circumstances I am looking in to becoming a self employed book-keeper. I appreciate it can take a while to build a client base, however I will be running it along side something else so I will only be looking for a few clients.

Is there any advice that anybody can offer me? I am going in to this rather blind. Ideally I have two sectors in mind, one of which I have a lot of background knowledge in.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello ??
Welcome to the forum.

First of all, can you pop your name on the bottom of the signature section then we know what to call you, rather than ??.

Also, what sectors.....might help for us to know so specific help can be given if anyone has any.

Then there is the question of....do you have any any the job experience and are you going for MATT MIP once you have passed?

Might be a while before you get full responses, everyone on here is ultra busy with January madness.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

Hi. Become a member of the IAB with your qualifications. AAT level 3 gets you MIAB. Get your MLR cover through the IAB. When you've X amount of experience, apply to become a AAT member in practice. The rest is a mine field... :)
