Does anybody use TurboCash? If not, is there a reason why? If so, is it easy to use?
I am looking at using this for the time-being, as it is free and supports multiple company accounts. I did wonder though if it was easy to switch to Sage for example in the future?
My understanding is that whilst the opensource code is free some people have found it difficult to understand and support is around £200 per year.
Generally when something is free there is a reason for it.
For unlimited client packages take a look at VT Transaction+ as a bookkeeping package. There's a two month trial that you can get from their site which could be enough to get you started.
Also Quickbooks Pro if purchased from Amazon is around the same price at VT and that one is also unlimited clients.
I would see no reason to switch to Sage (and their client tax) unless a client demands it and cannot be convinced to change (or changing would make no sense for that client).
Moving between software is always problematic usually down to the amount of lost detail from history as generally we would start the new software with opening account balances and move forwards leaving the old transactions on the old system (Credit control nightmare time).
Have a read of the following thread in relation to software, it's not as one sided as the title sounds :
Well, thats your Sunday afternoons reading sorted out,
all the best,
Shaun.

Never heard of it but as the driver of a twin turbo Subaru I like the name!!
And essential to get between clients so much faster.
lol Clare. Got this vision of you now in this tricked out street racer with the Neon sill lights.
You might be able to beat me on the straight but my MTech preped E30 would have you in the corners.
Better stop this before we end up racing for pink slips (I've seen Tokyo Drift, I know how this stuff works).

Was just joshin on the challenge... She's been in storage since 2005 so would need a couple of hundred track miles to limber up again... Or may never be up to what she once was but certainly in her day nothing could beat her in the corners. It was as though she was glued to the road.
Had a track race back in the 90's against a Nissan Skyline and that might as well have been towing a lump of concrete.
Had several beemers since but nothing has come close to that old E30 for speed, roadholding and general build quality which is probably why they are now seriously appreciating in value (I've seen them in similar condition to mine for around £17k but personally I think thats too much as thats almost back to what I paid for her new 23 years ago).
As I say though, with a twin turbo you would definitely have me on the straights... So if ever we race its the Nurburgring! (Beemer home turf and plenty of serious corners, lol).
As a linked note take a look at some of the Topgear races with beemers against the likes of Porche, Audi and espechially the one with the Shelby GT500. On paper the beemers should be totally outclassed by their rivals and yet win the races seconds ahead of their rivals in everything except straight burns (Which is basically what the mustang was built for).
The beemers basically have the advantage of the Z frame where others have the more rigid H frames so even from the initial chasis before they even start building the rest of the car they have corners won.
Add the that a sports gearbox (still love the way that when you come out of fifth the internal springs know that fourth on the way down is only for wimps), seriously responsive engines that throw you into the back seat when you touch the accelerator and excellent suspension and you have a race winner.
That said, its not an off road car like the Subaru, the beemer is bred for track racing as coming in at a couple of tones its just way too heavy for rally driving (I think that the newer ones are lighter but then, they're not as well built as the E30's).
Horses for courses and all that.
p.s. yep, sorry Carol.
p.s.2 amended to add the top gear bit

And by the way, she's a stealth car is Black Beauty, no neons or shout exhaust
I think so.
Same setup with mine.
Metalic black, black leather interior. Looks like any other smart beemer coupe. Only thing that gives anything away is the narrow band of three stripes on the bottom of the steering wheel.
